The FBI and Santa Fe Police Department are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Monday, April 2, 2012 at the U.S. Bank branch on 3787 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe.
The suspect may have been involved in three other bank robberies committed in Santa Fe this year.
The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, 5’6” to 5’9” tall, medium build, and approximately 20-30 years old.
He wore a green hooded jacket, a black ski mask, dark pants, black boots, and light-colored surgical gloves.
Witnesses said the suspect walked into the bank at approximately 11:35 a.m. and displayed a handgun.
The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense, and the penalty increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
