Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Eight Arrests in Pittston


A joint investigation involving a longstanding, widespread drug distribution network led to the arrest of eight individuals last night in Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. These eight individuals are alleged to have participated in a widespread criminal enterprise, operating out of a Pittston business, several residences, and several local bars. The FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office, as well as Plains Township, Pittston Boro, the United States Marshals Service, and Jenkins Township Police Department assisted with arrests of the following individuals:

Leroy Leonard Trudgen, of Pittston; William McDonald, of Pittston; Martin Williams, of Plains, Pennsylvania; Brian Amos of Plains, Pennsylvania; Joseph Shotwell of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; Leslie Williams, Denise Trudgen, and Martin Curry, all of Pittston; and Daniel Rasmus, of Exeter, Pennsylvania.

The investigation also resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics, cash, weapons, and bullet-proof vests.

Initial appearances for the arrested individuals are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. today before Magistrate Judge Mannion, Middle District of Pennsylvania.
