CBP U.S. Border Patrol Agents In Southern Texas seize 6.8 pounds of Methamphetamine


Laredo, TX – On April 11, agents assigned to the Laredo North Station seized 6.8 pounds of methamphetamine at the IH-35 Checkpoint. While an agent was conducting an immigration inspection of the driver of a Ford Expedition, a service canine alerted for possible hidden people or contraband in the vehicle.

The vehicle was referred to secondary inspection where a canine alerted to a backpack that was in the back of the vehicle. As agents removed the backpack, they discovered a bundle of methamphetamine hidden inside the backpack. The contraband weighed 6.8 pounds and has an estimated street value of $217,600.00.

The methamphetamine, vehicle and subject were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
