San Juan CBP Arrests Wanted Felon

Sought by New Jersey Superior Court for weapons charges

San Juan, Puerto Rico- U.S. Customs and Border Protection arrested last night an individual sought out by the New Jersey Superior Court in Hudson Vicinage for weapons violations.

Cesar Julio Cuevas-Mateo, 57, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, applied for admission before a CBP officer as a returning Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States, after arriving at the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport on a flight from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The inspecting CBP officer referred Mr. Cuevas-Mateo to secondary inspection where database review confirmed an outstanding warrant for his arrest by the New Jersey Superior Court in Hudson Vicinage for weapons charges.

The custody of Mr. Cuevas-Mateo was transferred to the Puerto Rico Police Department for extradition proceedings.
