An Albuquerque woman wanted on a federal
warrant for violating the conditions of her probation has been arrested in
Mississippi.
The operation was a coordinated effort
involving the FBI Divisions in Albuquerque, Memphis, and Jackson; the New
Mexico Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Division, and the Olive
Branch, Mississippi and Memphis Police Departments.
Olive Branch Police arrested Summer
Joyce Hammaker, 27, on a drug charge Wednesday night (April 18, 2012).
Hammaker gave a different identity and
police checked her fingerprints in a database maintained by the FBI’s Criminal
Justice Information Services Division.
When police officers were notified
Hammaker was wanted on a federal warrant, they called the Albuquerque FBI,
which had issued an unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for Hammaker on April
11, 2012 at the request of the New Mexico Department of Corrections Probation
and Parole Division.
Albuquerque FBI asked the Memphis FBI
for assistance.
After Summer’s identity was confirmed,
there was a coordinated effort between the Memphis and Jackson FBI Divisions,
as well as the Olive Branch and Memphis Police Departments, to locate
Hammaker’s infant daughter.
On Thursday (April 19, 2012), the infant
was located by Memphis FBI special agents and Memphis Police officers, who
turned her over to child protective services.
Hammaker pleaded guilty in 2009 to
conspiracy to commit armed robbery, robbery in the third degree, and tampering
with evidence.
A bench warrant was issued for Hammaker
on February 16, 2012 for failure to comply with conditions of probation.
