On Friday, December 16, 2011, at approximately 1.57 p.m., an unknown male wearing a Santa hat and white sunglasses robbed the California Bank and Trust, located at 135 Saxony Road, Encinitas, California. At the time of the robbery, the robber approached the teller and presented a demand note. The robber made a verbal demand for money and told the teller he had a gun. The robber placed the money into a green tote bag he was carrying. After receiving a sum of money the robber exited the bank.
The robber was last seen jogging away from the bank and entering a mid 2000’s Honda Civic SUV. The SUV was described as gold in color with faded black wheel covers, and a tilted “Honda” emblem. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on Saxony. Road. Witnesses advised that the robber appeared to have some type of injury to his right leg.
Witnesses describe the robber as follows:
Sex: Male
Race: White Age: Approximately 50 years old
Height: Approximately 5’3” to 5’5” tall
Weight: Approximately 140 lbs.
Build: Medium
Hair: Color unknown
Clothing: Blue jeans, white sweatshirt, white athletic shoes, wore a read and white Santa hat, narrow white framed reading/sunglasses, and carried a green tote bag
Other: Possible bad right leg
Vehicle: Mid 2000’s Honda SUV possibly a CRV, gold in color, faded black wheel covers and a tilted “Honda” emblem
