Incident Description: After working with other firefighters to help a dozen residents escape from a burning multi-family residential structure, Firefighter Davies and his partner, Firefighter Brian Carroll, re-entered the building in search of another resident reported to still be inside. Firefighter Davies was killed, and Firefighter Carroll seriously injured, when the building collapsed, entrapping the two firefighters.

Firefighter Carroll was rescued from the structure and is reported to be in stable condition and recovering at a local hospital.

Investigation into the fatal incident continues by local and state authorities.
