13 Separate Attacks In Baltimore City Since September
BALTIMORE – Mark R. Chait, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Baltimore Field Division, and Frederick H. Bealefeld III, police commissioner of the City of Baltimore, today announced that ATF and the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the rash of incidents involving Molotov cocktail incendiary devices throughout the Baltimore area. The first incident occurred on Sept. 13, 2011, and the most recent attack occurred Nov. 16. The majority of the incidents have occurred in the Northwest District of the city in the area of Liberty Heights and Wabash Avenues.
ATF and BPD are investigating these incidents. Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in helping solve this case as these destructive devices pose a serious danger to innocent citizens. Investigators are seeking information that would aid in the resolution of the investigation.
