“Holiday Bandit” Rings in the New Year with Another Armed Robbery

The “Holiday Bandit” has struck again.  On Thursday, December 30, 2010, at approximately the “Holiday Bandit” entered a Sovereign Bank located at
24-29 Jackson Avenue, Queens, New York
, displayed a black hand gun, and robbed the bank.  This is the third suspected armed robbery by this subject.

The “Holiday Bandit” is described as a white male, approximately 6’ to 6’2’’ tall, roughly 35 years of age, and approximately 200 lbs.  He was seen wearing a black hat, black ear muffs, dark sunglasses, a black winter jacket, and dark blue jeans.

Sovereign Bank located at 35-10 Broadway, Astoria, New York on Thursday, December 9, 2010

“This is no way to ring in the New Year” said Special Agent in Charge Diego Rodriguez.  “This repeat offender needs to be caught after committing such a dangerous and violent crime.  Someone, somewhere, knows something and we need them to speak up.”

Information can be submitted anonymously and anyone with information is encouraged to call the FBI at 212-384-1000. There is a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case.

The robbery is being investigated by the Joint Bank Robbery Task Force, which is composed of FBI agents and NYPD detectives. Operating since 1979, it is the longest continually operating task force in the history of the FBI and investigates major violent crime.
