The United States Attorney's Office announced that during a federal court session in Billings , on January 24, 2011 , before Chief U.S. District Judge Richard F. Cebull, JASON SCOTT MILLS, a 37-year-old resident of Billings , pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Sentencing has been set for April 27, 2011 . He is currently detained.
In an Offer of Proof filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tara J. Elliott, the government stated it would have proved at trial the following:
Beginning in approximately the spring of 2009, and continuing until approximately August of 2009, MILLS, along with A.M. and T.S,. distributed methamphetamine in Billings for a larger organization based out of Las Vegas , Nevada . Based on information obtained through numerous sources, agents with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and Eastern Montana HIDTA conducted a controlled drug purchase of a half-ounce of methamphetamine from MILLS on June 16, 2010 .
On September 30, 2010 , and October 1, 2010 , agents interviewed MILLS at his residence. MILLS confirmed he was introduced to T.S. by C.W. MILLS aslo stated that he obtained over 500 grams of methamphetamine from T.S. in the summer of 2009.
MILLS faces possible penalties of a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and could be sentenced to life, a $4,000,000 fine and at least five years supervised release.
