FBI and La Mesa Police Department Seek Public's Help to Identify Wells Fargo Bank Robber

The FBI and La Mesa Police Department are seeking the public's assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the Wells Fargo Bank, located inside of the Vons store at
8011 University Avenue, La Mesa, California
, on Thursday, January 20, 2011.

On Thursday, January 20, 2011, at approximately the Wells Fargo Bank, located inside of the Vons store at
8011 University Avenue, La Mesa, California
, was robbed by an unknown male using a demand note. At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank and approached an open teller window. The robber presented a demand note to the teller. After receiving a sum of money, the robber ran out of the bank and was last seen entering a black four door sedan.

This same individual is believed to be responsible for attempting to rob a teller at the Wells Fargo Bank,
2366 Jamacha Road, San Diego, California
, approximately 30 minutes before this robbery. During this attempted robbery, the robber presented a demand note to a teller who was behind a protective enclosure commonly referred to as a bandit barrier. The teller did not provide the robber with any money. During this attempted robbery, it is believed the robber wore a black t-shirt and changed into a white t-shirt to commit the later Wells Fargo bank robbery.

The robber is described as follows:

Race: Black
Sex: Male
Age: Early 20's
Height: Approximately 6'2" tall
Build: Medium
Clothing Black baseball cap, gold teeth, baggy white t-shirt, and blue or black baggy jeans
