CBP officers working at the Pharr/Reynosa International Bridge came in contact with a northbound 2011 Ford Courier pickup truck. The female driver was identified as a 35-year-old Mexican citizen from Reynosa , Tamaulipas , Mexico . A CBP officer referred the vehicle and driver for further inspection. Officers seized 21 packages of alleged cocaine that were found hidden within the vehicle. The Ford Courier was also seized by CBP.
The suspect was transferred to the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
Hector A. Mancha, CBP port director, Hidalgo/Pharr said, “Our frontline officers continue working hard to secure our nation’s borders and to prevent all types of contraband from entering our country. Our officers are doing great enforcement work.”
