The FBI has charged Andres Otero in a federal criminal
complaint with the October 30, 2018, robbery of an Albuquerque bank and other
federal crimes.
Otero, 61, with addresses in Moriarty and Albuquerque, is
charged with bank robbery, interference with interstate commerce by threats or
violence, possessing a firearm during a crime of violence, and being a felon in
possession of a firearm.
Otero, who was arrested by the Albuquerque Police Department
on November 1, 2018, on an active arrest warrant out of Texas for violating his
parole, is accused of robbing Washington Federal, 300 Eubank Boulevard NE.
He also is charged with the robberies of two other Albuquerque
businesses, a Waffle House and a Dollar General store.
Otero was expected to have an initial appearance in U.S.
District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.
The public is reminded that all defendants are presumed
innocent unless convicted in a court of law
