PHOENIX, AZ—On Thursday, November 15, 2018, the Goodyear
Police Department arrested Charles Manrow, 82, following an armed bank robbery
at First Bank, 1559 North Litchfield Road, Goodyear, Arizona. During the
robbery, Manrow allegedly presented the teller with a demand note, displayed a
weapon, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Goodyear Police stopped
Manrow’s vehicle shortly after the bank robbery and arrested him.
Further investigation revealed that Manrow was wanted by the
U.S. Marshals Service for walking away from the Garden Grove Residential
Re-entry Center, a federal incarceration facility, in Orange County, California
in September of 2018.
According to court documents, in 2007 Manrow was sentenced
to 181 months in prison and four years’ supervised release following a
conviction for armed bank robbery. Court documents show Manrow was charged with
11 bank robberies in four states between 2005 and 2007 including: California,
Colorado, Utah, and Tucson, Arizona.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in
a court of law.
The suspect has been charged in a complaint, filed in
federal court. A complaint is only an accusation, and a defendant is presumed
