POCATELLO – Stormy Ray Adakai, 23, of Fort Hall, Idaho, was
indicted today by a federal grand jury sitting in Pocatello on one count of
assault resulting in serious bodily injury, U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis
announced.
The indictment alleges that on or about September 2, 2018,
Adakai assaulted a victim by intentionally hitting him in the face and head
with rocks, resulting in serious bodily injury.
The charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury is
punishable by up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to
three years of supervised release. This
case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort
Hall Police Department.
An indictment is a means of charging a person with criminal
activity. It is not evidence. The person
is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court
of law.
