U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrests Sexual Assault Suspect in New Mexico



Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced the arrest of Keith Digiovanni, 57, who was wanted for sex-related offenses.

On March 30, 2015, the Northern York County Regional Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Digiovanni with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse – person less than 16 years of age, indecent assault person less than 13 years of age, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and corruption of a minor. On April 6, 2015, local authorities requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Digiovanni.

Deputy U.S. Marshals developed information that Digiovanni may have fled to New Mexico. An investigative lead was sent to the USMS task force in the District of New Mexico. On April 8, Digiovanni was arrested in Navajo, New Mexico by USMS task force personnel. He was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings in the case.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service recognizes the importance of bringing those charged with serious sex crimes to justice as quickly as possible. We give these type cases our utmost attention and it is my sincere hope that the victim finds some measure of comfort knowing the alleged offender will face justice.”

The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with officers from the Northern York Area Regional Police Department, York City Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service in the District of New Mexico.
