The FBI and Albuquerque Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union branch Wednesday afternoon and then robbed a BBVA Compass Bank about an hour later.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid-20s, about 5’10” tall, and weighing about 170 pounds. He had dark blonde hair.
The man had tattoos on both arms and wore a gray short-sleeve T-shirt with a logo on the front, baggy blue jeans and a blue baseball-style cap turned backward.
The suspect entered New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union, 3205 Coors Boulevard NW, at about 1 p.m.
He gave an employee a note demanding money and lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband.
The suspect left when the employee told him she was not a teller and could not give him any money.
The man walked into BBVA Compass Bank, 6001 Academy Road NE, at about 2:10 p.m.
He gave the teller a note demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of currency.
The suspect was seen leaving in a 2001 Ford pick-up truck.
A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subject.
