Vehicle Assault Suspect Caught by U.S. Marshals in Winston-Salem, North Carolina



Winston-Salem, NC – This afternoon at 1:00 PM, Jeremiah Decaslo Obrien, a 22 year old, Black Male, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) SWAT Team. Obrien was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Government Official. Obrien also had numerous traffic offenses stemming from the same incident. On January 19, 2015, a police officer with the Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD) stopped Obrien for a driving violation. According to the warrant, Obrien struck the officer with his vehicle while he was pulling away from the traffic stop.

The JFTF and the WSPD SWAT Team conducted surveillance and eventually surrounded a residence located at 337 Huff Circle. JFTF made contact at the front door where Obrien was taken into custody. Members of the JFTF transported Obrien to the Forsyth County Detention Center where he received a $300,000 bond.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
