Alleged Heroin Dealer Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Durham, North Carolina



Durham, NC – Yesterday morning at 9:00 AM, Frankie Lamonte Pettiford, a 31 year old, Black Male was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the Durham Police Department. On December 19, 2014, warrants were issued by the Durham Police Department for Pettiford for Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Heroin, Sell Heroin, and Deliver Heroin. These charges resulted from a drug investigation conducted by the Durham Police Department. Additional warrants were issued for Second Degree Burglary by detectives with the Durham Police Department.

A vehicle take down was conducted by the JFTF and Pettiford was taken into custody at the intersection of Hearthside Street and Welch Place. Pettiford’s prior criminal history includes Robbery with a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule II. Pettiford was transported to the magistrates’ office and was given a $150,000 bond.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
