Final Robbery Suspect Arrested

Fugitive Facing Aggravated Robbery Charge

San Antonio, TX – Jonathan Prado, 18, was arrested this morning by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in San Antonio, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), where it is alleged that Prado committed aggravated robbery.

Yesterday, members of the LSFTF initiated an investigation in locating and apprehending Prado. Through investigative efforts, task force officers determined that Prado was hiding out at a house in the 7300 block of Westville Drive, on the northwest side of San Antonio. Task force officers conducted a brief surveillance and approached the house. Task force officers entered the house, identified themselves, and found Prado hiding under a bed in a back bedroom. Task force officers ordered Prado from under the bed and took him into custody without incident.

On December 17, 2014, Prado and Luis Castillo, 19, allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint as he walked down the street. Reports stated that Prado and Castillo drove their vehicle toward a man in the 4500 block of Crystal Hill. Prado and Castillo exited the vehicle, displayed a handgun, and ordered the man to give them his wallet. After taking the man’s wallet, Prado and Castillo retreated to the vehicle and drove away. After a thorough investigation by the SAPD, arrest warrants were issued on January 5, 2015 for both suspects. Castillo was subsequently arrested by members of the LSFTF on January 13, 2015. Prado remained a fugitive until he was arrested by task force officers this morning.

Prado is currently being held in custody at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “Another job well done by members of the LSFTF and more importantly no one was injured during the apprehension of these fugitives. Taking another robbery suspect off the streets means that people can sleep a little easier at night.”
