Rocksprings Border Patrol Agents Nab Previously Deported Sex Offender


Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rocksprings Station apprehended a known sex offender Sunday evening.

Agents patrolling near Junction, around 8 p.m. Sunday, encountered Emanuel Ferman, 39, a Mexican national found to be in the country illegally. During processing, agents discovered that Ferman had been previously deported from the United States. Records checks also revealed that Ferman was a registered sex offender, stemming from a 2004 conviction for sexual assault, in El Paso.

Ferman will be processed for removal from the United States and faces a charge of re-entry after deportation under 8 USC 1326.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws
