FBI and San Diego Police Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify Robber

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify an armed man responsible for robbing the US Bank branch at 1606 Grand Avenue, San Diego, California on Friday, March 16, 2012.

On Friday, March 16, 2012 at approximately 10:15 a.m., an unknown male armed with a semi-automatic pistol robbed the US Bank at 1606 Grand Avenue, San Diego, California. At the time of the robbery, the suspect approached a security guard standing in the vicinity of the bank. The robber forced the guard to enter the lobby of the bank with him and then announced he was there to rob the bank. The robber displayed his weapon throughout the robbery and threatened to shoot bank employees if he was not provided money. After receiving money from several tellers, the robber fled the bank on foot. No physical injuries were reported.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Sex: Male

Race: Black (possibly a mask)

Age: Approximately 30 years old

Height: Approximately 6’2” to 6’3” tall

Weight: Approximately 200 lbs.

Build: Medium

Hair: Unknown

Clothing: Dark blue jump suit, dark knit cap, black sunglasses, dark gloves, and dark shoes

Weapon: Black semi-automatic pistol carried in right hand

Other: Carried a brown paper bag with handle
