U.S. Attorney Christopher A. Crofts announced that on February 29, 2012, Lamar Duran, a 24-year-old Northern Arapaho Tribal member from the Wind River Indian Reservation, was sentenced for his role in the September 2011 arson and burglary of the Arapahoe Baptist Church. Mr. Duran was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Clarence A. Brimmer to 53 months’ imprisonment, five years of supervised release, $200 in court costs, and $223,818.14 in restitution, jointly and severally with his co-defendant, Norman Ybarra, a 23-year-old Northern Arapaho Tribal member from the Wind River Indian Reservation, who was sentenced in this case on February 24, 2012.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
