The FBI Salt Lake City Division is requesting the public’s help in identifying the person who robbed Mullan Trail Bank in St. Regis, Montana this week. On May 31, 2011 at approximately 1:45 p.m., a white male walked into the bank wearing a dark colored motorcycle helmet and carrying a gun. He approached a teller, demanded money and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured. The subject drove off on a small motorcycle with red trim. Witnesses describe him as 5’2” to 5’6” tall.
Because witnesses have reported similar descriptions of the subject, special agents believe the same person may have committed other robberies in Montana dating back to September 2009 including:
First Valley Bank, Seeley Lake: April 5, 2011
Glacier Bank, Lakeside: November 10, 2010
First Interstate Bank, Big Fork: September 24, 2010
Muralt’s Truck Stop, Missoula: September 6, 2009
In each case, witnesses report that the suspect escaped on a motorcycle or an ATV.
