South Euclid Man Charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine

A federal grand jury sitting returned a three-count indictment charging Willie Curry, age 51, of South Euclid, Ohio, with attempted possession with the intent to distribute approximately five kilograms of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute approximately one kilogram of cocaine, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, announced today.

If convicted, Curry’s sentence will be determined by the Court after review of factors unique to this case, including Curry’s prior criminal record, if any, his role in the offenses and the unique characteristics of the violations. In all cases, the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in most cases it will be less than the maximum.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Teresa L. Dirksen following an investigation by the FBI (Cleveland Resident Office) and the Northern Ohio Law Enforcement Task Force (NOLETF).

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government's burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
