FBI and San Diego Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify California Coast Credit Union Robber

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male responsible for robbing the California Coast Credit Union, located at 440 Beech Street, San Diego, California, on Tuesday, June 14, 2011.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at approximately 10:00 a.m. the California Coast Credit Union, located at 440 Beech Street, San Diego, California was robbed by an unknown male.

At the time of the robbery, the robber entered the bank through the northeast door and waited in line until called by a teller. Upon reaching the teller counter, the robber placed a demand note on the counter. The note demanded cash and indicated the robber was armed with a weapon. The robber pulled back his jacket exposing the handle of a handgun tucked into his waistband. The teller complied with the robber’s demands and provided a sum of money. The robber took the money and placed it into his jacket pocket and fled the bank via the south door towards Beech Street.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Sex: Male
Race: Black
Height: Approximately 5’9” to 5’10” tall
Weight: Approximately 170 lbs. to 175 lbs.
Build: Medium
Age: Late 20’s to early 30’s
Hair: Mustache
Clothing: Brown plaid jacket, white t-shirt, gray or tan baseball cap with white logo on front and blue jean pants
