Champlain, New York – U.S. Customs and Border Protection today announced the arrest of a United States citizen wanted in Florida on larceny charges.
On May 12, CBP officers working at the Champlain, N.Y. port of entry encountered 54-year-old Windsor Jean-Charles, a United States citizen from Hillside, New Jersey, as he presented himself for inspection prior to entering the United States. Primary system checks revealed the possibility of an active arrest warrant in the United States and subsequently, Jean-Charles was referred for a CBP secondary enforcement examination.
During the secondary examination, additional record checks confirmed that Jean-Charles was the subject of an arrest warrant for larceny issued out of Broward County, Florida.
CBP officers verified the validity of the warrant and confirmed extradition to Florida. Jean-Charles was arrested by CBP and turned over to New York State Police pending extradition to Florida.
