Donald E. Oswald, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI Office, and the Sioux Falls Police Department, announce that the FBI and the Sioux Falls Police Department are seeking information about the identities of two men responsible for the robbery of the Service First Federal Credit Union located at 3600 South Kiwanis Avenue in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on January 10, 2011. One of those two men is also believed to be responsible for another bank robbery at the same location on April 27, 2011. The Service First Federal Credit Union is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robber or robbers responsible for these robberies.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. on January 11, 2011, the two robbers entered the credit union branch and demanded that the employees put their hands up. The each displayed dark colored handguns. They took an undisclosed amount of money from a number of teller drawers and put the money in a plastic bag. They left the bank on foot and no vehicle was observed. No one was injured during the robbery. One robber was described as a black male, 5’7"-5”8" tall, skinny, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark stocking hat, white and black plaid scarf over his face, dark pants, dark shoes, and dark gloves. The other robber was described as a black male, about 5’7” tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark hat, dark scarf over his face, dark jeans, dark shoes, and dark gloves.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. on April 27, 2011, a lone robber entered the credit union branch and demanded that employees put their hands up. He forced his way behind the teller counter by pointing a dark handgun at a teller. He took an undisclosed amount of money from a number of teller drawers and put the money in a white grocery sack with pink or red writing. The robber left the bank on foot and no vehicle was observed. No one was injured during the robbery. The robber was described as a black male, about 6' tall, very slim, wearing a dark blue bandana over his face, black stocking hat, black hooded sweatshirt with white writing and a red Michael Jordan logo, dark jeans, and dark gloves.
One of the robbers may also be responsible for the robbery at the TCF Bank branch located at 2508 South Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls on December 9, 2010.
