Mexican National Apprehended for Illegal Entry Less Than One Month After Deportation
Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass North station arrested a group of six undocumented aliens from Mexico on the morning of Friday, June 4. One of the subjects in this group was identified as a registered sex offender.
All of the subjects were transported to the Eagle Pass North Border Patrol station, where their fingerprints were run through the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System as part of routine processing.
IAFIS identified one of the subjects, Roberto Pacheco Aquinez, 47, as a registered sex offender who, on Dec. 4, 2008, was arrested by the Dallas, Texas police department for indecency with a child and sexual contact involving a 10-year-old girl.
On Nov. 5, 2009, he was convicted of the charge and sentenced to 10 years probation. Pacheco was formally removed from the United States on May 5 of this year -- 29 days prior to Friday’s arrest near Eagle Pass.
Pacheco will be prosecuted by the Border Patrol for 8 USC 1326, illegally re-entering the U.S. after having been previously removed as an aggravated felon, and his prior order of removal will be reinstated upon completion of his criminal proceedings.
