Cincinnati, OH – On 02/12/2010, McKelton was indicted in Butler County, Ohio for one count of homicide. In the early evening of February 12th, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) arrested 32 year old Calvin “C-Murder” McKelton on Lexington Avenue at Reading Road in the Avondale neighborhood of Cincinnati. McKelton is accused of killing Margaret “Missy” Allen of Fairfield back in July of 2008. Margaret, who was pregnant at the time of her murder was described as an up and coming attorney in the Greater Cincinnati area, was also the live-in girlfriend of McKelton.
McKelton has a lengthy criminal history including multiple convictions for Weapons under Disability, Domestic Violence, and Felonious Assault. Acting U.S. Marshal Cathy Jones stated “This is the fourth murder suspect that the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) has arrested within the last three days in the Southern Ohio area. A greater impact on community safety is made possible by the partnership with our state and local law enforcement partners”.
On 02/12/2010, SOFAST developed information that McKelton would be in the Avondale neighborhood of Cincinnati. Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers conducted surveillance at multiple locations in Avondale simultaneously. McKelton was observed driving on Reading Road near Forest Avenue. Members of SOFAST followed McKelton onto Lexington Avenue near Reading Road and conducted a high risk vehicle stop. McKelton was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
SOFAST is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of the U.S. Marshals, Cincinnati Police Department, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, U.S. Department of Agriculture OIG, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Sharonville Police Department, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
U.S. Marshals are the nation’s primary fugitive hunting organization and capture more federal fugitives each year than all other law enforcement agencies combined.
