New Jersey Man Indicted in Pennsylvania on Drug Charges

February 24, 2010 - A two-count indictment was unsealed today charging Nyene Baker, a/k/a Jason Anderson, with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, and possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy. The indictment alleges that between August 1, 2009 to August 4, 2009, Baker conspired with other individuals to obtain three kilograms of cocaine in Los Angeles and transport it back to Philadelphia via airplane.

If convicted of all charges, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison, with a five-year mandatory minimum, a $2 million fine, a mandatory minimum four years to lifetime supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney James R. Pavlock.
