February 16, 2010 - On Friday, February 12, 2010, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the TCF Bank located at 1444 West Lake Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone individual. The robber entered the bank, approached the teller counter and demanded cash from all three duty tellers. The robber threatened the tellers with a hypodermic needle that contained what appeared to be blood, stating that he had AIDS and had nothing to live for. After the tellers complied with the demand, the robber took the cash, placed it into a red plastic bag, and fled the bank. He was last seen climbing into an ABC taxi.
The robber is described as a white male, approximately 6’1” – 6’2” tall and 170 – 190 pounds. He was wearing a dark knit cap and facial covering, a black jacket, black gloves, black shoes, blue jeans, and carrying a red plastic bag.
Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI at 612-376-3200, the Minneapolis Police Department, or Crime Stoppers. A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber.
