Philadelphia Man Charged with Five Bank Robberies

February 1, 2010 - Malcolm Duncan was indicted1 today on charges that he committed five bank robberies between December 21, 2009 and January 7, 2010, of the following Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based financial institutions: Sovereign Bank, 1500 Market Street; Beneficial Bank, 1600 Chestnut Street; Susquehanna Bank, 1635 Market Street; and, Wachovia Bank, 101 N. Independence Mall East, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy.

If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 100 years in prison, a $1,250,000 fine, and $500 in special assessments.

The case was investigated by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Philadelphia Police Department, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Arlene Fisk.
