Murder Suspect in Pace Shooting Apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Louisiana

January 25, 2010 - Lafayette, LA – Regis Reymon Madison, the last known suspect wanted in connection for the murder of a Pace man less than a week ago was apprehended today by the U.S. Marshals Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana Fugitive Task Force in Lafayette, LA. William Russell Warrick Jr., 18, was in a trailer in the 4200 block of Alderwood Drive in Pace, FL when he was shot about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Marshals Task Force spotted him during surveillance after the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FRFTF) and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office investigation led them to Louisiana Friday night. At around 1:15 p.m. today Madison, 41, nicknamed “Old School” was taken into custody without incident at the Holy Family apartment complex located on the 1500 Block of Louisiana Avenue along with a Milton woman who was detained and questioned but not arrested. A vehicle that is believed to be one they were driving was impounded as requested by Santa Rosa County investigating officials.

Investigators from the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office and the FRFTF worked diligently around the clock since Wednesday morning. The investigation began in Santa Rosa and by Thursday they contacted the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Gulfport, MS. Task Force investigators there developed good leads and coordinated with the Task Force in Pensacola who asked for help from their counterparts in Lafayette. Also involved in Madison’s arrest were officers from Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes, Lafayette Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police.

“This was an intense investigation that logged a lot of man hours and sacrifices on the part of all those involved.” “But it is that type of cooperation that eventually leads to capturing these dangerous fugitives,” said Dennis Williamson, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Florida.

Madison Was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center in Lafayette under the Florida warrant. He will remain there until he is extradited back to Santa Rosa County.
