January 26, 2010 - Sherman Houser, 32, of Trenton, NJ, was sentenced today to 25 years in prison for the gunpoint robbery of the Bank of America, on Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA on November 6, 2006, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy. Houser and a co-defendant entered the bank with guns drawn and ordered everyone to the floor. The two fled the bank with $70,194. Houser was convicted by a federal jury in June 2009.
In addition, U.S. District Court Judge Gene E.K. Pratter ordered Houser to pay restitution in the amount of $70,194 and a fine of $2,000.
The case was investigated by the FBI and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony J. Wzorek.
