January 20, 2010 - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Station seized more than 370 pounds of marijuana Tuesday in two separate incidents. The most notable seizure occurred west of Del Rio where agents observed suspicious activity on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande River. After a short period of time, they saw seven individuals crossing the river from the United States back into Mexico.
Agents found four bundles of marijuana hidden in heavy brush after they back-tracked the foot sign to the last known location of the group. The total weight of the contraband was 208 pounds with an estimated street value of more than $160,000.
