Suspect Facing Child Abandonment and Endangerment Charge
Captured
San Antonio, TX - Zachary Lincoln McAdams, 24, was arrested
last night by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive
Task Force (LSFTF), in San Antonio, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant
to an investigation by the Goliad County 24th District Attorney’s Office in
Victoria, TX, where it is alleged that McAdams committed child abandonment and
endangerment.
On July 20, 2015, members of the LSFTF were contacted by
members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force (GCVOTF) to assist in
searching for McAdams in San Antonio. Members of the LSFTF immediately
initiated an investigation in locating and apprehending McAdams. Last night,
through investigative efforts, task force officers determined that McAdams
could be found in the downtown area of San Antonio. Task force officers made
contact with McAdams, identified themselves, explained that there was a warrant
for his arrest, and took him into custody without incident.
On June 8, 2015, a Goliad County district judge in Victoria,
TX issued a warrant for McAdams’s arrest on allegations involving child
abandonment and endangerment. Reports stated that McAdams allegedly left his
infant child in the care of an unknown subject who brutally assaulted the child
causing death. McAdams fled Goliad County and went into hiding to avoid
prosecution. He remained a fugitive at large until he was arrested last night
in San Antonio.
McAdams is currently being held in custody at the Bexar
County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition to Goliad County.
Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western
District of Texas, states, “This case was definitely a high priority and the
diligence of our task force officers proved essential in ensuring McAdams’
arrest.”
