Scranton, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced the
arrest of Guy Haughwout, 46, who is wanted for failure to appear for court on
June 15, 2015.
On July 7th, 2015, at approximately 11:00 P.M. Pacific Time,
U.S. Marshals from Eugene, Oregon visited a local trailer park after receiving
information of a wanted fugitive. Haughwout was located, identified and
arrested without incident. The arrest resulted after members of the U.S.
Marshals Service Middle District of Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force
investigated and learned that Haughwout fled from Pennsylvania and was heading
west.
In January of 2014, Haughwout was arrested by the
Pennsylvania State Police for violations of his Megan’s Law requirement for
failing to provide information.
U.S. Marshal Pane said, “The Marshals Service Fugitive Task
Force is committed to ensuring those who fail to register are brought to
justice. We owe this to our communities.”
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with officers
from the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Scranton
Police Department and United States Marshals Service in the District of Oregon.
