Albuquerque, NM - The United States Marshal Service in New
Mexico along with Task Force Officers assigned to the Marshals Service South
West Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) Task Force arrested Todd Craig and
William Lynch over the weekend. Craig was arrested on an armed robbery warrant
and Lynch was arrested on warrants out of California for parole violations and
rape.
Craig was arrested by Deputies and Task Force Officers
assigned to the SWIFT task force on Saturday and was booked at the Metropolitan
Detention Center. Craig was also wanted by the Albuquerque Police department
who had a search warrant for Craig’s DNA in connection with a 2009 homicide.
Lynch was arrested Sunday after investigators with the
Marshals Service in California developed information Lynch may have been hiding
with family in Albuquerque. The information was forwarded to the SWIFT task
force and Lynch was located by SWIFT with the assistance of the Albuquerque
Police Department. Lynch was also booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center
pending extradition to California.
United States Marshal for the District of New Mexico Conrad
Candelaria said, “This is a six year old unsolved homicide case that resulted
in a multi-state coordinated effort to locate and arrest this suspect and there
is not a more worthy cause than to make sure criminals charged with sex
offenses are found and brought to justice. Our children and our communities are
at risk when violent criminals are unaccounted for.”
