Gulf Coast Suspect Tracked and Arrested in the Lone Star State



Fugitive Facing Attempted Murder Charge Captured

San Antonio, TX – Larry Verdell Lynn, 49, was arrested this evening by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in San Antonio, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the City of Troy Police Department (TPD), where it is alleged that Lynn committed attempted murder.

Yesterday, members of the LSFTF were contacted by members of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) to assist in searching for Lynn here in San Antonio. Members of the LSFTF immediately initiated an investigation in locating and apprehending Lynn. Through investigative efforts and extensive surveillance, task force officers observed Lynn driving a vehicle in the 400 block of Valley High Drive, on the south side of San Antonio. Task force officers initiated a stop of the vehicle, approached the vehicle, identified themselves, removed Lynn from the vehicle, and took him into custody without incident.

On May 3, 2015, Lynn was allegedly involved in stabbing a woman in Troy, AL. Reports stated that TPD officers responded to an alarm call from business in the 200 block of U.S. 231 North in Troy where they found the victim suffering from severe stab wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital and reported in critical condition. After an investigation by TPD detectives, a warrant was issued for Lynn’s arrest in connection with the stabbing.

Lynn is currently being held in custody at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office awaiting extradition to Troy, AL.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, states, “This evening, the collaborative efforts between the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the City of Troy Police Department finally put an attempted murder suspect behind bars. Now that he’s off the streets, we can focus our prayers toward the victim with hopes that she will have a speedy recovery.
