High Point, NC – On May 29, 2015 around 11:40 a.m.,
Cornelius Jaqual Woods, Jr., a 22 year old male was arrested by the U.S.
Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the High Point Police Department.
Arrest warrants were issued for Woods, Jr. in High Point, NC on May 27, 2015
for two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, two counts of Assault with a
Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill, and two counts of Discharging a Weapon into an
Occupied Vehicle. The warrants were drawn as the result of a reported incident
in which Woods, Jr. allegedly fired shots at a vehicle occupied by Gabrielle
Pemberton and her young child in High Point on May 27, 2015. No one was injured
during the assault.
On May 29, 2015, members of the JFTF and High Point Police
Department Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance at 1541 Beaucrest Avenue.
At approximately 11:40 a.m., Woods, Jr. was seen leaving the house on Beaucrest
Avenue. Woods, Jr. was arrested at that time without incident. He was
transported to the High Point Police Department by the JFTF at that time and
turned over to the investigating officer in charge of the case. Conditions of
release are unknown at this time.

Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro
Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police
Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway
Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of
Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
