Louisiana Fugitive Arrested by U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force



Tyler, TX – The U.S. Marshal’s Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force (JETF) arrested a homicide suspect from Logansport, LA. The JETF received a tip from Tyler-Smith County Crime Stoppers shortly after noon on May 12. The tip indicated that the Suspect, Jacorroyn Lavell Wilson, 24, was at a residence in the Pine Creek Town Homes area located at 2202 Loblolly in Tyler, Texas.

Members of the JETF investigated the tip and developed information that Wilson was hiding in the attic at the residence. After a consent to search the residence was given by the homeowner, the task force officers cleared the main area of the house giving special attention to entrance to the attic.

At this point, JETF requested additional assistance from the Tyler Police Department’s Special Operations Team. Also, a search warrant for Jacorroyn Wilson was requested and granted from Judge Kennedy. Law enforcement officers on the scene were ultimately able to convince Wilson to surrender without any additional resistance.

Wilson was taken into custody around 9:30pm by Tyler PD Special Operations Team and JETF. Wilson was transported and booked in to the Smith County Jail. Wilson is also wanted by Smith County for unlawful carrying of a prohibited weapon/bond forfeiture, and an engaging in organized crime charge out of Dallas County, Texas. Additional charges in Desoto Parish, Louisiana include Battery of a Police Officer/Resisting by Force.

The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Task Force Agencies that participated in arresting Jacorroyn Wilson include the Tyler Police Department, Smith County Sheriff’s Department, Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Office of the Inspector General (TDCJ-OIG), and the USMS.
