Murder Suspect is Brought to Justice by Marshals Task Force



Memphis, TN - Alleged murder suspect Vintonii Chase was arrested last night by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force working in conjunction with homicide detectives from the Memphis Police Department.

Chase, also known as “Bam”, is accused of killing Bruce “Lil Bruce” Whitmore on April 15. The killing is reported to be an argument over music being played. Authorities have been searching for Chase ever since a warrant was issued for his arrest on 4-17-14.

Last night at approximately 9:00pm, Chase was located in an apartment in the 8400 block of Ridgeway. He was taken into custody without incident. At the time of this release he remains in custody at the Shelby County Jail.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
