Convicted Felon Arrested in Winston-Salem, North Carolina by U.S. Marshals



Winston-Salem, NC – This morning at 10:00 AM, William Andrew Mitchell, a 22 year old, Black Male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the Winston-Salem Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team. Mitchell was wanted by the Winston-Salem Police Department for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

JFTF conducted surveillance in and around the Winston-Salem area which led the JFTF to 1532 Argonne Boulevard, where Mitchell was arrested without incident. Mitchell is alleged to have possessed a firearm after being previously convicted for felony Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
