Swanzey Man Sentenced for Bank Robbery

CONCORD—Daniel Mark Lavalley, 30 of Swanzey, was sentenced in United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire to 151 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to robbing the TD Bank located on Court Street in Keene on July 11, 2011, announced United States Attorney John P. Kacavas

Lavalley entered the bank at approximately 10:45 a.m. and presented a note to a teller demanding money and stating that if the teller cooperated, no one would get hurt. The teller provided Lavalley with a sum of United States currency, and he was last observed leaving the area of the bank on foot. Images obtained from the bank’s security system and nearby convenience stores were obtained by law enforcement officials and compared to known images of Lavalley. The images from the bank were also shown to a relative of Lavalley who positively identified him.

The case was investigated by the Keene Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant United States Attorney Donald Feith with assistance from the FBI.
