Sioux City Woman Charged with Bank Robbery in Federal Court

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Sioux City woman has been charged in federal court with bank robbery.

Michelle Bock, age 39, was arrested yesterday on a complaint charging her with bank robbery. She appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge John E. Simko on July 19, 2012, and was advised of her rights. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 20 years’ imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine. The charge is merely an accusation, and Bock is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The investigation is being conducted by the Sioux City Police Department, the Sioux Falls Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney John E. Haak is prosecuting the case.

Bock was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. A trial date has not yet been set.
