Suspect Arrested and Charged in Connection with Robbery of PNC Bank Branch in Aurora

A 29-year-old Aurora resident was arrested and charged in connection with the July 14, 2012 robbery of the PNC Bank branch located at 77 South Broadway in Aurora, Illinois. Miguel A. Ramirez, who resides at 1191 Comet Drive in Aurora, was taken into custody by Aurora Police in Oswego, Illinois, without incident, shortly after the Saturday robbery. He was later turned over to FBI agents.

Ramirez was charged in a criminal complaint filed today in U.S. District Court in Chicago with one count of bank robbery, which is a felony offense. Ramirez appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Cole, at which time he was ordered held pending his next scheduled court appearance, which will take place on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
