Suspects Arrested in Connection with Robbery of Wells Fargo Bank Branch in Duluth


ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Brian D. Lamkin, along with Gwinnett County Police Chief Charles M. Walters, announces the following arrests today subsequent to an armed takeover style bank robbery earlier today at Duluth, Georgia:

On Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at approximately 11:15 a.m., two black males entered the Wells Fargo Bank located at 3072 Old Norcross Road in Duluth, Georgia, wearing masks and brandishing at least one semi-auto handgun. The robbers, having obtained an undisclosed amount of money, were observed departing the bank in a maroon colored Honda Accord and fleeing southbound on Interstate 85.

Responding units from the Gwinnett County Police Department began pursuit of the getaway vehicle, which exited I-85 at Pleasantdale Road. Upon exiting, the robbers crashed into several vehicles located at an intersection near a Quicktrip gas station. The robbers abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot.

Arrested without further incident shortly thereafter were Anwand R. Jackson, age 34, of Norcross, Georgia; and Herbert Hector, age 36, of Atlanta, Georgia.

Both individuals are being held and processed on federal charges related to armed bank robbery. They will be afforded an initial appearance in front of a U.S. magistrate judge at the Richard B. Russell Federal Courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.

The public is reminded that the above are merely allegations and that all persons are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
