Information Sought in Connection with Two Chicago Bank Robberies


Two bank robberies occurred late this morning (May 30, 2012). Agents and police are currently on scene at both locations, and details are limited at this time.

The 1st Merit Bank branch located at 7227 West Addison in Chicago was robbed at approximately 10:13 a.m. The robber, a lone male wearing a dark baseball cap and dark plaid shirt, entered the bank and approached a teller. The robber displayed a handgun and vaulted the bank counter during the course of the robbery. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. A possible suspect is in custody in connection with this robbery.

Shortly thereafter, the TCF Bank branch at 7342 West Foster in Chicago was robbed by a lone male with a white head-covering and dark glasses. The robber passed a note to a teller demanding cash. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries have been reported in connection with either robbery.
