Seeking Assistance in Locating Armed Serial Bank Robber

June 11, 2010 - ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Brian D. Lamkin, FBI Atlanta, requests the assistance of the public in identifying and locating a serial armed bank robbery responsible for today’s armed robbery of the Wachovia Bank, located at 3072 Old Norcross Road, Duluth, Georgia.

On Friday, June 11, 2010, at approximately 10:23 a.m., a lone male robber entered the above listed Wachovia Bank, announced the robbery and ordered all bank employees to the floor. The robber was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. The robber then jumped the counter and proceeded to take an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The robber placed the money inside a black plastic bag and exited the bank telling the employees "thank you" prior to leaving. The robber fled the bank in an early 1990's Acura Legend, black or gray in color, and was last seen traveling in a southeast direction on Old Norcross Road. The robber was described as a black male, medium to dark complexion, in his 20's or 30's, approximately 6'00", 160 to 170 pounds, medium build, with black facial hair, wearing a blue New York Yankees baseball cap, white Polo shirt with blue collar and trim, blue jeans, and white sneakers.

The robbery may be related to the August 25, 2009, robbery of the Wachovia Bank, located at 1815 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain, Georgia. That bank was robbed in a similar manner. The robber was described as wearing a red Polo ball cap, red Polo shirt with large logo and the number "2" on the right sleeve, and blue jeans.
